Bacteria and Virus Protection

Our team here at HS-CS makes sure that no matter the job, we leave the premises sparkling clean with so signs of any bacteria and viruses however, no matter how hard you clean they will always find a way back if it is not kept on top of which is why we are going to give you the most efficient ways to protect your premises but to do this we need to understand the difference between bacteria and viruses.

Bacteria
Bacteria is a free-living cell that can live on and off the body and doesn’t require a living host. Not all bacteria are harmful, we are surrounded by bacteria and we have them living inside us helping us to process food which is necessary to our survival.

Although some bacteria are necessary to our survival some bacteria aren’t good for us and are harmful. This bacteria is what we want you to prepare to kill to make you and your premises more safe and hygienic.

Viruses
A virus is a non-living molecule that requires a living host to survive, all viruses are harmful however some don’t affect humans the same way they can affect other living organisms such as a plant or an animal. This, however, does not make a virus harmless as it can evolve to enable itself to survive and reproduce on other organisms such as humans.

It is incredibly hard to know whether you have bacteria or virus-infected premises as they are both invisible to the naked eye therefore being prepared to clean for both is crucial. The three main cleaning types you need to know are sterilisation, disinfection, and sanitation.

Sterilisation
Sterilising something completely removes all microorganisms from the directed place and airborne particles. This method however is usually done by professionals as this requires special, high-powered machines, a good example of this is ‘Fogging’. If you are interested in what Fogging is you can take a look at our blog ‘benefits of fogging’. This is the best way to make sure you get your premises cleaned to high standards however it is hard to keep on top of due to it needing a professional cleaning company.

Disinfection
Disinfecting something eliminates most harmful organisms from surfaces, this method of cleaning is a much cheaper option and is much more accessible. Disinfecting a product is usually done by spraying a surface with a specific disinfectant and wiping it down, giving it enough time to eliminate any bacteria or viruses upon it. You can find disinfectants in supermarkets and other shops which makes it a much more accessible option than hiring a professional cleaning service. Although it is nowhere near as effective as professional cleaners, it is still a must-do.

Sanitisation
Sanitising is incredibly different from sterilising as sanitisation reduces microorganisms to a safe level. Sanitisation is commonly used to wash your hands and other parts of your body rather than being used on a surface or item although it can be used like this as it was through the COVID-19 pandemic.

We know that service reliability is as important as delivering outstanding standards. We can provide cleaning staff on a long or short term basis. You can be sure that your premises are in safe hands with HSCS.
